It is my pleasure to inform my audience that I have been selected to attend the 2022 Ron Paul Scholars Seminar. The event will be held in Washington D.C. in early September of this year, and only 10 undergraduate students entering their junior and/or senior years are accepted to attend this exclusive program. Reportedly, the applicant pool was the most competitive ever, with more students applying than any previous year of the seminar. It is no surprise that more and more young people are so inclined to be persuasive to libertarian ideas after the ridiculous two years of tyranny we have all experienced since the advent of lockdowns and mandates.
I first heard about the seminar via Ron Paul’s Twitter, after I saw him post about the application in mid-July. I was immediately interested and filled out the application later that evening. In the last few months, I have done extensive study into libertarian ideas and read a lot of literature which has inspired me to apply to this conference. Roughly one week before I applied, I completed Ron Paul’s book “End the Fed” and published another article I had completed upon researching the Mises caucus, which can be read here.
The main event for myself and the other nine scholars that have been invited to attend will be the seminar on Friday. I have yet to learn of the keynote speakers at this year’s seminar, but past speakers have included U.S. Rep Thomas Massie, former U.S. Rep John Duncan Jr., author James Bovard, and independent journalist Luke Rudkowski. In a tweet from Ron Paul himself, he described the event as a “one day foreign policy boot camp taught by the real experts.”
In addition to the seminar held on Friday, I will also be welcome to attend the Ron Paul Institute’s “Anatomy of a Police State” conference on Saturday, with another invite to the post-conference VIP reception. This conference will discuss the United States’ current path towards a police state, including the tyranny of the many alphabet agencies that are restricting our freedoms in the name of “safety and security.” Professor Daniel McAdams describes it as Bob Dylan singing “it’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there.”
I am very honored that I was chosen to be one of the ten Ron Paul scholars and I am very grateful for the opportunity to learn from some of the great minds in politics. I am excited to meet new people and openly discuss ideas with my peers. Upon completion of the seminar, I am expected to write a 500+ word paper suitable for publication on the Ron Paul Institute website which I plan to also publish on Dead Reckoning.
Finally, I look forward to writing an update about what I learned, what I discussed, and the opportunities that this seminar brings to me. I hope that this interests you, and please subscribe to Dead Reckoning and share it on social media and/or with friends and family.
